INGREDIENTS NEEDED:

Shrimp

Olive Oil

Garlic

Seasonings: Salt, Pepper, Smoked Paprika, Chili Flakes, Fresh Parsley

HOW TO MAKE GAMBAS PIL PIL:

You can prepare Gambas Pil Pil in two ways: in the oven or in a pan on the stovetop. I generally prefer the oven method because it seems to result in less oil splatter and minimizes cooking odors.

  1. First things first, make sure your prawns are thoroughly cleaned and drained. If you bought them pre-cleaned, you’re already a step ahead. Otherwise, take the time to remove the shells and devein the prawns for the best results.
  2. Grab a ceramic baking dish and pour in a generous amount of olive oil. Add paprika, salt, pepper, chili flakes and sliced garlic.
  3. Place the baking dish in the oven and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 minutes. This will allow the oil to infuse with the spices and garlic, creating a flavorful base for the prawns.
  4. After 10 minutes, take the dish out of the oven and add the prawns. Give them a quick stir to ensure they’re well-coated with the oil.
  5. Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes. Keep an eye on the prawns they should turn a beautiful pink color and be cooked through but still tender.
  6. Once your prawns are perfectly baked, take them out of the oven and get ready to serve. If you prefer, you can transfer them to a tapas dish. Pair them with some crusty bread to soak up all the delicious juices, and pour yourself a glass of white wine.
